Host Families

What is the role of the Host Family?

We are looking for hosts who will give our students a Warm Irish Welcome. Host families will make sure their students feel right at home by including them in family activities and students are invited to join meals, outings, and other fun gatherings to help them feel like part of the family.

  • Accommodation: Students in our Academic program will need their own bedroom equipped with storage space and a study desk. Those joining our Summer Camp enjoy shared accommodation.
  • Meals: Hosts will offer our students breakfast, a packed lunch, and dinner, with a focus on variety and nutrition. Hosts will do their best to cater to their students’ tastes.
  • Laundry: Hosts will provide access to laundry facilities once a week.
  • Bathroom: Students will have access to a hot shower every day. Students are responsible for bringing their own hygiene products including shampoo, toothpaste etc.
  • Towels & Bedsheets: Fresh towels will be provided once a week. Bedsheets will be changed fortnightly.
  • WiFi: Hosts will provide students with access to the family WiFi upon arrival.
  • School Transport: Hosts either offer transportation or help organize a school bus ticket.
  • GP Registration: Hosts will ensure their students are registered with a local GP for any health needs that may arise.
  • Orientation: Hosts will assist students in settling in, showing them around the area, and providing support on their first day of school.
  • Work Experience: Hosts will lend a helping hand in finding local work experience opportunities for their students.

Host Families

  • Home Visits: Our friendly local Coordinator will arrange a home visit at your convenience to get to know you better.
  • Garda Vetting: After the home visit, we’ll guide you through the Garda vetting application process.
  • Student Placement: Once the vetting process is complete, get excited! We’ll match you with your first student placement.
